October 29, 2018 Week #66 " Let the holidays begin! " Cuenca Spain Madrid Spain Mission

Well this morning we woke up to snow, I guess it's okay to listen to Christmas music haha.

Well this week was fantastic. We saw a lot of miracles, we meet a lot of great people, and we had some great lessons. We have a friend right now, Zacarias,  that has known the missionaries for a lot of years. He first met them in Annapolis  in the states, since then he's been in contact with them throughout the years and like 5 different countries. He kinda shied away from them for a few years but we he saw us he decided to give it a go again. He's great has lots of good questions and is ready to put in work. He will be baptized. We also have this guy named Javier who's been coming to English class who's absolutely hilarious, all he talks about is food, but mostly about how we should have ber (beer, but that's how he pronounces it) and sandwiches for everyone so we have more people. He has a Book of Mormon so we will see where things go. We also have a buddy named Gabi o Gabriel who is a stud he's 15 but made lots of progress this week including coming to church for all three hours! We have another friend named Costa who moved here from Romania, like most of our friends, a few years back but is an old body builder and he is super nice, very big on values, super open, and also has some previous connections with missionaries. So if any of you know someone who served in Cuenca in 06-07 who knows this dude Costa let me know. He's trying to get back in contact with them. Florín is a dude that moved here from Romania, he's super interested in the church even though he's pretty young, and he brought his buddy Alex who moved here from Bolivia with him. So they are both progressing, and are looking for that answer like it promises in Moroni 10:3-5. Our other friend Alex, who moved here from Romania, is also searching for his answer and his having problems finding it but we have to remember we are working on God's timeline. He's a beast, if not for injuries, he could have gone professional in soccer, rugby, boxing, singing, or about whatever else he wanted to. And he looks like a Weston Banks just Romanian with long hair haha. Our twins who moved here from Romania are lost a little bit, were still trying but Daniel and Valentin are getting a little distant. We have a buddy from Valencia area, whose name is Ivan, he's an older gent,  who has been coming to like every activity and to church! Also doing well. I hope that's enough about people!

This week we had killer English classes and also a good Halloween activity, and Branch Conference. Branch Conference was fantastic, everybody from the stake came and we had a packed house! Also a bunch of fantastic messages!

I want to share something I heard in our branch conference in reference to the announcement made for the coming 2 hour block of church, and the new programs for a more home centered study and worship. This change is preparation, just like this life, and just like the changes that have taken place in the church God has established on the earth since it's beginning. All of it has been preparation for something, the end. We are in the last days, we hear it from our Prophet, from the scriptures, and its in the name of this Church. If we don't prepare ourselves now, and strengthen ourselves and our testimonies in our home, what will happen when we no longer have a place to have our meetings? Are our testimonies founded in a memorized routine that we fall into every Sunday? Or are they founded in the principles and truths that the Lord has taught us? When this world reaches the point when we can't "go to church" every Sunday, will we still have our testimonies? And will we be able to keep growing them?  Those times are coming fast, in the words of our prophet President Nelson " in coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost". Now is the time to act, to decide who we will be for the eternity.

I love all of you, have a good week. Read your scriptures, say your prayers, eat your vegetables, listen to your parents it doesn't matter how old you are or how old they are, listen to your leaders, listen to the spirit, listen to your heart, be humble, be courageous, AND NEVER GIVE UP!

It snowed so we went on a hike
