November 19,2018 Week # 69 " Eat more pie, baptize more people. The perfect plan"... Cuenca Spain, Madrid Spain Mission

Well another great week has flown past! This past week we had quite a few things happen!

We started off the week with a zone conference in Madrid which was great. We learned a ton from from the Busseys! We also had some great pulled pork sandwiches, and of course with the thanksgiving theme, some pumpkin pie. I had the great opportunity to serve others and keeping them from suffering, so I ate all the pie that was left over. Double the blesssings lol.

Then we headed back to Cuenca and back to work. Well we saw a lot of miracles this week, finding different people, and teaching some cool lessons! This week we had to stop teaching a few people which is always a little sad, but we're here to find the people that are ready to change to have a better life. We also had an amazing appointment with our friends Gabi and Florín! We had planned to extend a baptismal date to Gabi, and Florín showed up! So we taught about repentance and then extended the date to Gabi. He said yes. Then we all prayed, one by one. And after Florín told us he wanted to be baptized as well. It was awesome! A few of our other friends are progressing as well, just a little slower. Friday we went to go get churros and chocolate (super typical of spain) with Al, it was my first time and it's pretty good stuff. I would recommend that you try it if your ever in Spain haha. Saturday we played some football, and futbol and it got me itching to get a Turkey Bowl going on haha.

Again this week I was studying a little more and I learned something really important.
Becoming perfect is not a one time decision. It takes much effort and much FAILURE, but as we fail, we learn, and we slowly make progress to where we want to be.
I think that a lot of times we decided to be better but when things get hard, and temporary failure sets in, we forget that it's precisely those experiences that make us better! After getting knocked down once we can't just stay there and say well that was hard. We have to get back up, and make an effort to keep getting back up, and getting back up faster. Too many times we think that we are way to far outside the realms of perfection, yes we are to be perfect, but as Elder Holland says "with the time". It takes time to become who we went to be, and who God wants us to be.

So this week, I invite you all to "be perfect" (if you don't know how to, or where to start, read the scriptures(if you don't have scriptures find the missionaries or your local Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints)), but I invite to take the decision to be it and then get back up when you make a mistake! Remember to say your prayers, read your scriptures, serve people around you, listen to your parents, be obedient, be humble, do your chores, love everyone even if it's really hard, and DON'T EVER GIVE UP! I love you all and hope you have a good week!

P.S. shout out to my boy Elder Stewart, today I'm going to go hit up an eating challenge here in Madrid. Pics to follow.

I kind a muffed it on pics this week, sorry.
