August 6 2018 Surprise Transfer to Cuenca "Goodbyes are really really not fun/cool guys and classics" Week # 54 Madrid Spain Mission
Well, the title explains it pretty well. Currently I'm on a train to Madrid headed to my next area (we now travel on Monday, which is also pday lol). But this week was pretty good, ill give you a run down before we get into the whirlwind of the weekend we had.
Tuesday night we had an appointment fail so we decided to go out to a little town outside Algeciras that I still hadn't been to in the 6 months I was there haha. We went out and started passing by some people we had contact information for. While we were walking around we passed by a house and saw some older cars in the garage, and deciding to build on some common interests we began to talk with the gentleman there. He had two Citroen Dos Caballos, one was from 1955, and the other from 74. The one running, from 55, had a whole 30 horsepower haha, pretty nuts. But he was awesome and we talked for a bit.
Other people are all still doing good, Jenny got back from a YSA conference that she loved. Paco has been pretty busy. Other than that not much, a couple people with potential but...
So this transfer we kinda knew that Elder Gergov had a pretty big chance of going to the office, like 99/100%, haha so Thursday we went to La Linea for some appointments and to say goodbye.
Friday as we were coming back from a failed appointment, Elder Gergov got a call from President, calling him to the office. It was pretty nuts haha, I was content to stay another transfer because there are a few people that we have found recently that really seem interested and we have a few branch activities in August that are going to be pretty big. Then that night we went out to eat with Fernando at a place that is just about as American as you can get here, Fosters Hollywood, and hey it wasn't half bad. We went to help him buy some weights and then said our goodbyes, little did we know i was also saying goodbye.
Saturday we were back in La Linea with Elmer, and he's ready to start progressing. He'll be bapped, and probably his wife, pretty soon. As we were waiting for the bus we get another phone call, to tell me that I am leaving as well. And nothing else. That night they call again to tell me where I'm headed, to Cuenca, and that my next companion will be Elder Johnson. And that they are bringing sisters in to replace us. The big guns. So after playing some soccer with all the teenagers and such, we went home to pack. All in all it was a pretty wild day.
So yesterday was pretty nuts as well. Church, departing testimony, goodbyes, eating, packing, and cleaning haha, made for a crazy day. And Elder Dunford left to get his new comp so we were rolling in a trio with Elder Childers, who is headed home. We got it all finished up and we are on our way.
I have a testimony of God's will. That he knows what we need, and when we need it, but we have to be humble, and understand that we can't understand everything he knows and does, but I know that it is always for our benefit.
I love all of you, read your scriptures, say your prayers, count your blessings, be humble, and look for God's guidance and help in your life, because it's there, he's just waiting on you.
