Funerals, Food, and Futures June 25, 2018 Week #48 Last Week of the Malaga Spain Mission!
Well folks here we are. This week was the last week of The Spain Malaga Mission. It's officially over. I will be staying here in Algeciras for a 4th transfer, so in a year I'll have had two areas and 4 companions, 5 counting the Mtc. That's nuts! And staying here in Algeciras also means I will form part of the NEW SPAIN MADRID MISSION! SO that's gonna be sweet!
But this last week was quite crazy, we ate a ton but first little update on the people were working with. We did a lot of working in the street, lots of contacting, we got a reference for a Book of Mormon so we dropped that by, nice little family that has a ton of potential, we also taught Jenny our recent convert she is doing awesome still. We also were in La Linea and we received a call that a brother in the branch had passed away, he was in his 40s and the only member but we jumped on a bus back to Algeciras went to support his family. The next day we had the funeral and was super sad but it's an opportunity for his family to learn more about the plan of salvation. We also taught Dolores and she's doing a ton better now that's she's taking the correct pills and is able to sleep better. Soon she will be back in the church. But really we are just searching for those people who are ready, they are there and God kept me here to find them so let's gooooooo!
This week was killer though, we did service, we taught a little, but we ate GOOOOD. Started Thursday we went to lunch with an American/Sedish couple that are nuclear scientists which was super awesome. It was a super interesting conversation and we ate some awesome steak. Friday night we put together a surprise party and cake for Patricia, the member with the store, and surprised her there! Death by chocolate ice cream cake(made by yours truly), that got wrecked by the heat on the way there haha. Saturday we may or may not have eaten dominos for lunch (my companion loves pizza and he forces me to go hehe), and that night had a BBQ with Hans the brother of Jimmy (Branch Mission Leader) fried chicken, Bolivia has got some game on the state's. Then Sunday was unreal. Breakfast German pancakes with caramel sauce, then we had Branch Conference and the entire stake presidency came, and so did President Andersen (it was his last Sunday in Spain), and Wow so many inspired men. So cool to be around them. Then we went to Lunch at Patricias house Pique Macho with mocochinchi bwah and Then strawberry cheesecake! Then that night we had a BBQ with Jimmy and to say the last we were quite full. Then today we picniced in the park and played volleyball and I'm stuffed once again. 40 day fast coming to get me back into shape lol.
I was studying this week and this hit me,
2 Nephi 2
25 Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy.
Adam fell, so that he could progress. Progressing, learning, and becoming better brings true happiness. We are here to progress and that will bring us Joy. When God and Jesus Christ see us progress it also makes them happy, and it makes everything worth it for them. Our purpose is to progress, that's what it comes down to.
I love you all I hope you have a good week. This week, say your prayers, read your scriptures, be grateful, be humble, and strive to progress!
