We're..... talented?/ Miracles on Miracles December 18, 2017 Christmas in Murcia/Malaga Week # 21
Started off the week strong, last Monday night we had another lesson with Roman. Going into it we were quite worried, of course, because of the problems we've had with him in the past. It was a complete change from what we've seen before. We started by going through the commandments and just saw how much better he was understanding and accepting everything. About halfway through the commandments we had planned to teach, Elder Biegel and I looked at each other while Roman answered a persistent phone call, and and confirmed the prompting we had received to talk about the baptismal interview questions. We didn't know how it was going to work out but both of us felt like it needed to be done. That's how revelation comes, we just have to be listening.
Now this is where Roman completely opened up to us and for THE FIRST TIME in my life, I visibly saw the Spirit of the Almighty God change someone! Changed his countenance completely! He was talking about God trying his faith and almost jokingly he said; "maybe I just need to be more humble". Then he kinda stopped and realized it might be just the thing. The spirit changed his perspective on everything, and by the end he was just ready to take on the world if thats what it took to get him in the baptismal font. It was such an amzing lesson i wish i could explain it better. Then on Friday we had an even better lesson which in all reality, is inexplicable. The spirit changed him even more. Now we're preparing for his baptismal interview the next few days and his baptism the 23rd!
Now Samuel and Hong-Chun, and Samuels crazyish Uncle Jose Manuel. Friday we had another lesson with Samuel and Hong and set baptismal dates with them! Currently we have practically 5 people with dates which is sick! The lesson with them went super well and Samuel continues to remember more as we continue talking, and Hong is taking everything super well. Then on Sunday they came to church and guess who they brought with them? His uncle Jose Manuel. It was awesome. We are straight on fire, and are so blessed here in Murcia. ALL GLORY TO GOD!
Another thing that I have been thinking of a lot lately is other churches. Haha why? To strengthen my testimony. Questions are good as long as you go to the source of all true knowledge, it starts with a G, and its not Google... God. He can do more for all of us than any website ever could because guess who created everything in this world? So other churches or beleifs, a lot of times I'll ask people "why are you a part of your church?" Or "why do you believe that way?" And the most common answer is my parents, the second most common is my parents parents parents parents twice removed believed this way, or I get a lot of "because it's easier", or "because it makes sense". Never have i asked someone these questions and received an answer that makes up my testimony and numerous other testimonies of Latter Day Saints: "I have received a spiritual witness that this churcn is true" or even feelings that this is something good. Go look at Galations 5:22. So I invite all of you to find this spiritual witness by reading the Book of Mormon, praying, and going to church, and really trying to focus on the spirit.
Now if your tired of all the serious stuff We did have a chance to get wild this week haha. We had our Christmas conference and it was awesome, there was a ton of talent but we definitely took the cake. We played a musical number, featuring Elder Biegel on the semi raw chickens, Elder Tabilo on the frozen turkey legs, Elder Krummenacher on the Protein bin with sasauges, and Elder Batty on the leg of Hamon.
