SIT DOWN, BE HUMBLE Week #20 Malaga Spain Mission

Super sick sunset. I will be opening a restaurant upon my return to the states. What your looking at is sautaeed onions, peppers, bacon and chicken, cooked in with some seasoned potatoes, all over a fresh bed of greens. And then a new 370Z nismo

Another week has passed here in Murcia and I have officially given up on trying to recount the events of the past week, so I will try to write down the highlights.

We had quite a few eating appointments this week which was nice, and a few family home evenings. We had one with Jonathan and Nelly, along with a few other members that was a ton of fun. Jonathan is so close to baptism they just have to get married still.

Our investigator Roman is the inspiration behind the title today haha. In 3 weeks he read the Book of Mormon in Spanish and English. He has a strong testimony amd He wants to follow God and Jesus but he is very set in his opinions and thinks that he knows everything. He has a hard time accepting anything that differs from his way of thinking, and even though most of his beliefs correspond with those of the church, there are a few that don't. So our goal this week is to somehow provoke a sense of humility so he will just follow the flipping commandments.

I WANT TO TESTIFY THAT GOD IS A GOD OF MIRACLES! About a month ago we were passing by the houses of less active and inactive members. We passed by a man who has served in many church leadership positions, spent a lot of time sharing the gospel, and even more time around missionaries. This man is now completely inactive. A formerly endowed member, strong member, someone people had looked to as an example has fallen away because he stopped doing the little things. No worries! God knows where all of his sheep are. We contacted a young man by the name of Samuel who is 24, his father (who was an active member) died when he was about 6 and since then he hasn't had any contact with the church. We started teaching Samuel this past week and found out that the afore mentioned man is his uncle. Now I don't know exactly where things will go but there is a huge possibility of baptism for Samuel and him playing a role in the reactivation of his Uncle. This is just one example of why, with God in the mix, there are no such things as coincidences.

Another example of God knowing where his children are; a few weeks ago my back started to act up, so I called it in to go to a chiropractor/ physical therapist. Well my friends we are now teaching my physical therapist haha. He has accepted a Book of Mormon, and as we return we will continue to teach him the lessons haha.

Sunday we had stake conference and so we went up to Cartagena to a conference center (there isn't a chapel big enough) that was right on the bay. There was a talk that was given in the adult session by the 2nd counselor of our stake presidency. Here are some notes i took on it: For one who is a parent or is preparing to be a parent remember that you do not have to be perfect, but God does expect you to fulfill your responsibility of caring for the souls that he has trusted you with. The home is the place for learning temporally, and spiritually. Our children need the example of parents and the precious moments spent with them in conversation and teaching. The responsibility to start and encourage the process of learning in any type or form, lies in the lap of the parents. The responsibility to stay informed and involved in their lives is also responsibility of parents. We will be questioned at the last day what kind of parent we were, and how we cared for these treasured spirits that had been entrusted to us.

I love all of you, remember to count your blessings, and always say your prayers.
