Week # 18 November 27, 2017 Good Thing for Golf Pants
Another week bites the dust.
This past week absolutely flew by. I think we averaged 2.5 or so lessons a day which is super sick because usually that never happens. We were constantly busy, and we now have 3 investigators with baptismal dates! Lettttssssssss Gooooooooo! We also received transfer calls and my companion Elder Biegel is staying here for the Holidays! That is going to be great because we have a ton of stuff going on, hopefully some baptisms, and I didn't really want a new comp yet haha.
Now as for the golf pants title. Saturday nights we usually play soccer at the church because we have a little court and everyone here loves to play, but there was a stake activity at our church that night so we had to cancel it. Don't worry though we definitely still got our exercise. Instead of playing soccer we scheduled lessons with our investigators Roman at 630 and Rafael at 830, Romans lesson was in Puente Tocinos and Rafaels was at our church which walkjng is about an hour away. So we taught Roman the Plan of Salvation, and extended the baptismal invitation which he accepted for the 23 of Dec. It was an awesome lesson but he likes to talk a ton so we got there and talked for a little taught the lesson talked a little more and got out pretty late, or really late as a matter of fact haha. We had an hour and fifteen minute walk ahead of us to get to our lesson with Rafael and we had about 20 minutes to do so. And so we ran, and ran, and ran some more and got there only three minutes late and with completely dead legs haha. So this week I am very grateful for stretchy golf pants that allow me to run without ripping a hole in the crotch hahaha.
But speaking of being grateful I hope everyone had the opportunity to be thankful for something this week, because I definitely did. The district and some members came in clutch this week when it came to thanksgiving. Holidays definitely feel different away from home, but it was good in its own way. For district meeting/thanksgiving dinner me and Elder Biegel were in charge of the pies... And so we made pies. Haha a lot more difficult than expected considering that nobody really makes pies here. So we ran all over Murcia looking for ingredients, dishes, and supplies. And we went to work! We made a pumpkin pie, that was amazing, an apple pie that was delicious and a banana cream soup! Hahaha Pics disclosed below. That night we ate some good ole KFC with some members from America and an investigator, which was awesome.
Blooper from the week: One morning me and Elder Biegel were out contacting and headed back to piso and while watching to see if a cross walk was about to change I walked dead on into a pole. So as I held my face, and listening to the gong of the pole, i sheepishly turned around and found Elder Biegel practically lying on the ground dying of laughter. Luckily for me not too many people were around and most were pretty intent on their own business haha.
I found a quote one morning while we were out and about and its goes like this: La felicidad de tu vida depende en la calidad de tus pensamientos.
Or in other words:
The Hapiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts.
How real, and effective this really is. If we are constantly focused on the bad things in our life, or the bad things about life, we are bound to have a bad life. Now if we focus on the good things of our life, or the good things about life, the inverse is true, we are bound to have a good life! SO AS YOU THINK YOU SHALL BE!
This Holiday season is the perfect time to be thankful, to focus on the good things, and to be happy. For those of you who don't know, the 1 of Dec. Starts the activity Light the World. 25 ways we can provide service, over the 25 days leading to Christmas. To help other people focus on the good, and to in reality, Light the World. I invite you all to participate in this, and ways to brighten someone else's day.
I know that this is a special time of the year, and it was inspired by one who's life was dedicated to brightening others. I know that God the Father and our Savior Jesus Christ live, and I know that there are things more important than ourselves. So let us try to look outward and upward, and always remember to thank God for everything we have. I love all of you, and hope you have a great week!
