Letssss Goooooo pt. 2 October 30, 2017 Week #14

Tyler Layne Batty

Well another week has passed here in Murcia, i forgot to mention in my past emails that the reason I don't mention the language anymore is after two weeks of intense headaches it was no longer a problem (for the most part). But really I'm pretty comfortable about where I'm at with it, and how I'm progressing. If it's possible I want to start learning French halfway through the mish, because of huge population of people that can speak French. But on the real, things have kinda slowed down because we have been really busy with some things and have had trouble contacting people. So Monday of last week we got stood up by our boy John, don't know what's happening but last we heard he was working a lot and yeah. Then Tuesday we taught Jonathan and he's doing great but the situation with him and nelly getting married is super complicated. Then we got stood up by our recent convert cristina and then a couple days later found out she blocked us, through another recent convert (who was the one who introduced us to cristina) who is really questionable because she has admitted to us she has mental issues and is seeing a psychiatrist, and always says the exact opposite of what Cristina tells us. I don't know if you could follow all that but at least your now as confused as we are hahahaha. Wednesday we took a walk all over our area and had some cool contacts, got some sick pics of the sunset and monteaugudo (huge castle/ statue of Christ) and then picked up some elders from the bus station at like 11. Then comes the beef hehe, Thursday I went to Malaga to get my residency card so I'm no longer illegal, and while I was down there I decided to do an eating challenge at a place called taxi Angus. It's an American style bar and grill with this challenge of a burger that had 6 half pound patties, some onion rings and fries on the side, and a half cup of nacho cheese sauce, and another half cup of some of the hottest salsa I have ever had. All under 25 minutes or you have to pay 25 euros  which is like 30 us dollars and I wasn't about to pay cause y'all know us missionaries are already broke lol. And so I tried it,  almost died because i started with the sauces and then couldnt feel my tounge or see so i left them for the end, but then pounded it all almost threw up but kept it all down and washed it all down with a cold mountain dew all in 22 minutes, so now i get my name on the wall and sick t shirt. Im the 8th person to complete it. So that was lit, I got a huge meal for free that lasted me 24 hours hahaha. Sunday was probably the coolest day of the week, always nice to refresh, on the way home we were standing at a cross walk when a scooter tried to lane split in between two cars as they were starting to go and caught his handlebar on a mirror kind of kept going wobbling for a sec and then went down so thought he would just kinda jump up and get back on because he really wasn't going to fast but we realized his leg was pinned so we dropped our stuff and ran out to pick it up and help him up. Cool service experience and nobody was hurt too bad. Then yesterday night me and elder Biegel were sitting on a bench while he was on the phone and an older gentlemen came and sat down so when elder Biegel got off the phone we just decided to contact him and turns out he was the very first member of Murcia! So we talked with him for a bit and he's kinda less active because he travels a lot but he's 83 and one of the coolest dudes I've met so far.

I hope all of you are doing well, remember to say your prayers and count your blessings, and repent. I know that God has a plan for us, that we can return and live with him and our earthly families forever. I know that he loves us and wants to bless us, we just need to be obedient to the gospel of Jesus Christ so he can. I know that this church is true, and that we are on this earth to be tested, but the reward for this test is so much more than we could even imagine. I encourage all of you to find this out for yourself, through sincere (look up definition of sincere) prayer. This is the work of almighty God, to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. I bear my testimony of these things in the name of Jesus Christ amen.
